"Empirical Evidence is one of the most successful musical projects by Aldo Ammirata, expert in many instruments and one of the finest performing artists in Palermo. For many years his musical projects consist of drone ambient atmospheres obtained with fields recordings and a massive use of unconventional musical analogic and digital instruments. His constant research for the magical doctrines led him to an approach as an expert follower of concrete sounds, sometimes hidden and distressing but always full of precise historical references.
The new album "neospectralism" is inspired by the musical current of "spectralism" born in the 1970s following an article by French philosopher and musician H. Dufourt, based on the analysis of the physical phenomena of sounds in relation to the environment, the use of the first PCs at that time allowed for a small sound spectrum analysis and sound representation. Modern computer systems and the most advanced software in the world allow you to go far beyond the limits of experimentation, and today it is possible to affirm with certainty that sound and environment relate beyond the boundaries of "physicality", entering into unknown territories, "the sound of the heart", "EVP" etc. phenomena to which science has not yet given plausible answers. "neospectralism" is all this. In 2015 Nostress has decided to produce a new limited edition CD released on the anniversary of the birth of the great Serbian engineer Nikola Tesla called "nepoznat" (unknown in Croatian) which, as the artist says, "more ' a tribute to Nikola Tesla and 'perception of his sensitivity' of his essence, a reference completely empathetic far from any personality cult, leaving space for a connection entirely mental. The tracks are born rearranging and moving to digital field recordings of old tapes past but also using acoustic instruments in a "suggestive" and cancellation of the digital dimension." Every performance, in great demand today, is always to be considered a true "concept of pure performance edge" where Empirical Evidence tells a specific topic, a clear direction, a search for syncretism through the intelligent use of analog instruments, electronics and through the use of the cello (which refer to the western tradition) and Esraj ancient, archaic-sounding instrument haunting and dreamlike (eastern tradition).
