Distance Of Reflections

Nostress Netlabel is proud to present “Distance of Reflections”, the latest work by Ilir Lluka available for free download, an EP running at around 20 minutes. It includes three tracks that weave their threads upon urban and introspective dynamics, made out of precarious balances and unpredictable glimpses of light slowly rising behind mountain fogs and distant rivers to then be abandoned inside the chaos of the cityscape. This is a record made out of almost familiar urban sounds that the artist has lived and wanted to capture into a single body of work, made out of voices collected from his daily life, distorted and processed so as to destabilize the listener while accompanying him in catatonic voyages beyond the borders of mind and body. Indeed, there are elements that in certain moments detach from the subjective matrix to make space for an objective perspective with colours, blurry nuances and dialogues that take place in the meanders of the psyche of those who grasp the message and create their own personal story. The cover photography by Albanian artist Lori Lako conceptualizes two parts, distorted and normal, of an image that presents quotidianities of every subject and the sensations lived in them. The distorted half represents the perfect background for the tracks in this inner urban route.
Ilir Lluka lives in Tirana and for almost six years has worked on abstract and unconventional music, having upon his shoulders several productions with Nostress Netlabel such as his album “Shell” released in limited edition CD available from the label’s site. The base concept of his music is about memory and how it evolves alongside personality creating surreal sensations that counteract the real ones. Ilir Lluka is not an artist that repeats himself musically however in every work he loves to leave behind a distinguished and unique imprint, sometimes by usage of classical instruments, sometimes by long drones. The core of his musical research is the destabilization of the listener with a dense presence of streams as body of such sonorous gems. He composes by graphic scores and programming where the manipulation of different sound processing modules takes place in real time. These highly complex scores are created by the artist himself and graphical programming and coded frameworks enable the artist to emerge with such unique sonorities. A unique artist in his genre and a record that will leave you jaw-dropped.
